Mrs. Marjorie Ruth Spitzer McDaniel

A celebration of the life of Mrs. Marjorie Ruth Spitzer McDaniel will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2019, at Antioch Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Espy, Rev. Guy Milam, and Rev. Jerry Milam officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery.

Mrs. McDaniel, age 90, passed away peacefully at home July 3, 2019.

She was born in Humboldt, TN to the late Rena and Finice Milam. She retired after 21 years from Madison County Schools as cafeteria manager at Northside High School.

She loved her family, working in her yard, flowers, and made many quilts and cross-stitched pictures for her family.

She was a lifelong member of Antioch Baptist Church. In her younger years, she was very active in many church roles and loved attending the ladies Golden Circle Sunday School Class.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Sipper Spitzer, and her second husband, Otis McDaniel; son, Ronald Spitzer; her siblings, Sue Bell, Mildred Williams, J.W. Milam, Alton Milam, Otis Milam.

She is survived by her daughters, Deanna Smith and husband Tony, Debbie Fonville and husband Ray; daughter-in-law, Cathy Spitzer; grandchildren, Ryan Spitzer and wife Tracy, Justin Smith and wife Cherie, Jessica Cole and husband Ryan, Jennifer Thomason and husband Corey, Susan Haston, Christy Crawford and husband Jason, Brent Fonville. Her great-grandchildren, Rogan and Keegan, Kari and Elizabeth, Blake and Bailey, Knox, Charlee and Hunter, Rena and Gavin; two-great-great-grandchildren, Rylie and Oliver. They all lovingly called her “Mammie”. She is also survived by her sister, Jane Blankenship; brothers, Guy Milam and wife Diane, Jerry Milam and wife Nancy.

Pallbearers serving will be her grandsons: Ryan Spitzer, Jason Crawford, Brent Fonville, Justin Smith, Ryan Cole, and Corey Thomason.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 5, 2019, from 4 until 8 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church and on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until service time.
