Mr. Tevis Lynn McAbee

Mr. Tevis McAbee, lovingly known as "papa", passed away Monday, February 27, 2017 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital at the age of 68, 5 months, 21 days.

He was born in Spartanburg, SC to the late Thomas and Betty Morris McAbee. In earlier years he owned and operated a windshield glass company, a satellite company, was a professional skydiver, DJ, and retired truck driver. He once skydived into the Carolina Panthers stadium with the American Flag. Papa loved to garden and was master at it. In short, he was an all around free falling hippie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-daughter, Tina Wilson Bogan; sister, Judy Waldrop.

He is survived by his son, Shane McAbee of Columbia, SC; daughter, Laurie Johnston of Union City, TN; step-daughter, Vicki Wilson-Bis of FL; sister, Chris Ray (John) of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Michael Reeves, Kaitlynn Reeves, Jasa Johnston; great-grandchild, Dasilynn Grace Hodges, all of Union City, TN.

There will be a gathering of family and friends 12 noon Friday, March 3, 2017, at the Wesley Living Center, 448 Hannings Lane, Martin, TN 38237
