Peggy Linda Adair-Gill

Medina, TN

Peggy Linda Adair-Gill of Medina, Tennessee left this world for her heavenly home, on Sunday, January 21, 2024, in Jackson, Tennessee surrounded by loved ones. 

Peggy was born on November 10, 1946 in Danville, Arkansas.  She was the only daughter of Raymond R. and Marie T. Clemons Adair.  The family moved from Arkansas to Mountain View, California in 1948 and later moved to Antioch, California where Peggy graduated from Antioch High School in 1964.  She attended The Stenotype Schools for Business and Reporting, in Sacramento where she studied Court Room Stenography.  Peggy started her 31 year career working for Shell Oil Company in Martinez, California in 1965.  Her last position with Shell was as Production Accountant before she retired in 1996.

Peggy lived in Antioch, Pittsburg, and Brentwood, California (all in Contra Costa County) for 75 years of her life until she moved to Medina, Tennessee in 2021.  She attended Calvary Temple Church in Concord, Golden Hills Church in Brentwood, and after her move to Tennessee became a member of Englewood Baptist Church in Medina.

Peggy is well known for her kindness and generosity.  Her favorite place was Hawaii where she has made annual trips for many years always taking close friends and family to share her love for the islands.

She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Leah Tandberg (Geoff) Warren of Medina, Tennessee; Meghan Gill (Paul) Swain of Chico, California; and Morghan Gill (Brian) Bedford of Lakewood, California.  Her favorite title was “Grammy” to Jackson and Charlotte Warren who were the joy of her life.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Paul Dean Adair; brother, Tommy Jack Adair; nephew, Vern Dean Adair; and niece, Stacy Marie Adair.

In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her brother, Raymond Keith (Ginger), of Discovery Bay, California; sisters-in-law Judy Adair Klemons of Oakley, California and Janetta Adair of Danville, Arkansas; three nephews-Mike (Lorie) Adair of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Anthony Adair of Oakley, California, and Keith Adair of Brentwood, California;  2 nieces-Paula Adair Hill of Danville, Arkansas and  Peggy Adair Lazzarini of Oakley, California;  5 great-nieces; 5 great-nephews; 5 great-great-nieces; 5 great-great-nephews; and one great-great-great- niece.    

Other loved ones who will miss their friendship with Peggy include dear friends Jim and Ann Johnson of Walnut Creek, California, Gerry and Sonnie Tandberg of Concord, California, Dennis and Chris Gill of Cabot, Arkansas, her Hawaiian travel buddies, many former co-workers from Shell Oil Martinez, California, and numerous cousins on both the Adair and the Clemons sides.

Visitation will be at Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home, 303 Church Street, Medina between 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.  Other arrangements will be in Arkansas.
