Graveside services for Mrs. Nancy Brantley will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Hollywood Cemetery in Jackson, TN, with Jonathan Mays officiating.

Mrs. Brantley, 78, passed away June 24, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN. She was born in Jackson, TN, to the late Robert Harris and Nelle (Ware) Dietzel.

Nancy was a devoted homemaker whose greatest joy was caring for her family and home. She was known for her quick wit and fiercely independent spirit, always meeting life with a clever comeback and strong will. She had a deep love for the outdoors and spent countless peaceful hours watching her wild birds and making daily rounds to check her beloved bluebird houses.

Nothing brought her more satisfaction than mowing her lawn—a chore she turned into a favorite pastime each summer. She found joy in the warmth of the sun, the hum of a mower, and the beauty of freshly cut grass. She also loved planting flowers and watching them bloom in the yard she took so much pride in. Her favorite place in the world was simply home—where she felt most herself, most at peace, and most surrounded by the life and love she had built.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 42 years, Walter H. Brantley; her son, Shannon Brantley; and her sister, Nelle Pogue.

She is survived by her children, Denise Sharp (Bobby), Doug Brantley (Eileen), and Jason Brantley (Danitta); seven grandchildren, Noah Sharp, Ian Sharp, Erin Sharp, Will Brantley, Nickolas Brantley, Jerrad Brantley, and J.T. Brantley; and nine great-grandchildren, Stori, Hallie, Slate, Steele, Salem, Eli, KJ, JL, and Alyssa Brantley. She also leaves behind her dear friend Cathy Dent, who was like a daughter to her and brought love, laughter, and support throughout many years.

Nancy’s strength, humor, and love for life’s simple pleasures will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Hollywood Cemetery in Nancy’s memory.

Donations may be sent to: Hollywood Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 3975, Jackson, TN 38303.
