Michael David Pounds

Funeral services for Mr. Mike Pounds, age 72, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Resurrection Church in Humboldt, with Pastor Lee Cook officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Mike passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Born in Gibson County, Tennessee, Mike was the son of the late Henry V. Pounds and Jerlene E. (Lee) Pounds. He was a proud graduate of Humboldt High School, Class of 1971, and dedicated many years of service to the City of Humboldt as a skilled mechanic before retiring.

Mike is lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Shirley Pounds; his children, Josh Pounds and wife Lisa, Caitlin Manuels and husband Corey; and his cherished grandchildren, Hayden Pounds, McKenzie Yeager, and Able Manuels. He is also survived by his brother, Tim Pounds.

Mike’s life was marked by quiet dedication to family, hard work, and an unwavering sense of loyalty. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
