Memorial services for Ms. Mattie Volner will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2021, at New Concord Baptist Church in Kenton, TN with Bro. Rodney Gregg officiating. Visitation will be held prior from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.

Ms. Volner, age 84, passed away at her home Sunday, January 3, 2021, in Kenton.

She was born in Humboldt to the late Jim and Lula Hall McKnight. Ms. Volner was a librarian at the Gibson County Memorial Library in Trenton where she retried after 40 years of service to her community. She was a member of New Concord Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Russell McKnight; grandson, Micheal Buckingham.

She is survived by her sons, Mike Volner and wife Machelle; Timothy R. Volner; daughter, Janice Buckingham; grandchildren, Amanda Volner, Kelsey Volner, Timothy Buckingham and wife Jenny; great-grandchildren, Karli Corkran, Dewayne Conaway, Mekai Conaway, Jae Conaway, Hadleigh Buckingham, Maddy Bryant, Carson Bryant, Saylor Buckingham; sisters, Polly Gibson and Sandra Buzard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to New Concord Baptist Church.
