A memorial service for Mrs. Martha Porter, age 85, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Central Avenue Christian Church with Pastor John Carter officiating. Visitation will take place at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
Mrs. Porter passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Born in Humboldt, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Phelan and Katie Grace (Sloan) Evans. Martha dedicated many years of service to Dowsley Insurance before retiring and was a devoted, long-time member of Central Avenue Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Billy Porter; her parents; brothers, Hershel Evans and Bailey Evans; son, Donny Bolls and great-grandson, Carter Trefz.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Todd Hardin, Kimberly Young and Cindy Porter-Crocker; grandchildren, Daniel Sims, Clint Tipton, Zac Smith, Kim Pruitt (Tom), Suzanna Gayhart, and Skylar Hardin; and her great-grandchildren, Lawson Trefz, Conner Sims, Waylon Sims, Merri Beth Ricketts, Allayah Dove, Jace Burse, and Emma Tipton.
Martha will be remembered for her unwavering faith, loving spirit, and the deep devotion she had for her family and community.
