Larry Dean Carey

Funeral services for Mr. Larry Dean Carey will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Milan First General Baptist Church with Bro. Donnie White and Bro. Mark White officiating. Burial will follow in Latham’s Chapel Cemetery near Medina. Visitation with the family will be held at the church on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 4 p.m. till 8 p.m. and again on Thursday from 11 a.m. till service time.

Mr. Carey, 54, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024 at NHC Milan after a long illness.

He was born in Milan, TN to the late Joe M. Carey and Peggy Floyd Carey. Although since birth he was affected by both cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy, this never stopped him from achieving his goals.  He was a graduate of Huntingdon High School Class of 1988. Larry loved to do anything outdoors but his favorite was fishing. He was a huge wrestling fan. Along with that he learned and enjoyed telling “tall tales”. Larry loved his family and friends deeply, but most of all he put his love of God first.  He will be truly missed.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joe W. Carey and Mark Carey; sister, Peggy Sue Carey.

He is survived by his sister, Kim Carey Flake; special nephew, Jaimeson Flake,nieces, Tifny McHaney, Amy Carey; nephews Mark Carey, Jr., Chris Carey, Jeremiah May; many cousins and special friends.

Pallbearers to serve are: Ronnie Carey, Randall Patterson, Mark Carey, Jr., Bo Beard, David Rinks, Paul Riggs.
