James Eric Johnson

Funeral services for Mr. Eric Johnson will be held at 12 P.M. on Monday, June 10, 2024 in the chapel of Replogle~Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Curtis Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery in Cedar Grove. Visitation with the family will be held prior from 10 A.M. till service time.

Mr. Johnson, age 68, passed away surrounded by family at his home in Spring Creek on Thursday, June 6, 2024.

Eric was born in Madison County, TN to the late Clois E. Johnson and Martha Johnson Volner. He graduated from North Side High School and worked as a security officer at the Milan Army Ammunition Plant where he retired after 33 years of service. In 1975, Eric married Donna Winters and they continued to reside his entire life in Spring Creek. When not working, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and attending Beech Bluff Pentecostal Church. Eric loved his family deeply, especially his grandsons, but his main love was Jesus.

Eric was preceded in death by his father, Clois Johnson; sister, Tammy Johnson; step son, Kevin Russell.

He is survived by his mother, Martha Johnson Volner; loving wife of 48 years, Donna Johnson; daughters, Tina Metcalf and husband Paul, Julie Gaugh and husband Glen; brother, Darryl Johnson and wife Johnnie; grandsons, Keaton Metcalf and wife Hailey, Seth Metcalf, Elisha Gaugh, Jesse Gaugh; many extended family and wonderful friends.
