Imazelle "Ima" Salters Smith

Graveside services for Mrs. Ima Smith will be held 1 P.M. at Ridgecrest Cemetery, Jackson, TN on Monday, November 3, 2025 with Bro. Randy Pool officiating. Visitation with the family will take place in the Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home chapel from 10:30 A.M. till 12:30 P.M. prior.

Mrs. Smith, age 79, passed away at Jackson Madison County General Hospital on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 with her husband by her side.

Ima was born in Hattiesburg, MS to the late Archie Salters and Mary Lucy McQueen Salters. After graduating high school, she completed her Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi “Class of 69”. Her career as a medical insurance coder at West TN Bone and Joint in Jackson lasted nearly 30 years. When not working, she enjoyed crocheting, needlework, reading, and her church family at Medina First Baptist Church.

Ima was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Glendal Salters.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Tommy Smith; son, Paul Smith (Christina); daughters, Karen Jones (Tony), Kathy Alexander (Donald); sister, Wrenette Butterworth; grandchildren, Layla Smith, Margo Smith, Alley Bennett (Jake), Rachel Wilbanks (Matthew), Emily Jones, Anna Guthrie (Matt), Abby McCage, Aly Orten (Keith); great grandchildren, Bennett Guthrie, Lyla and Kenzel Orten.

Pallbearers to serve are: Tony Jones, Donald Alexander, Matthew Wilbanks, Matt Guthrie, Keith Orten, Matt Johnson.
