Memorial services for Mr. Geary Keith Riley will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Sellers officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until service time.
Mr. Riley, 79, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was born in Steele, Missouri to the late Albert L. and Ada Bell (Thornton) Riley. Mr. Riley was self-employed in the construction industry. Geary was a member of the Elks Lodge and VFW in Jackson. In his pastime he loved to hunt, fish, travel, and go on cruises. He had a love for all things John Deere ( he bled green ). For 21 years, Geary showed his classic 1966 blue Chevy Nova and had a room dedicated to all the trophies he won.
Geary was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tyrone Murley.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary E. (Manning) Riley; his furry companion, Tutti Marie; son, Morris W. Riley and wife Lisa; grandson, Trevor Lee; granddaughter, Trinity Madisyn; brothers, Phillip Murley and wife Sherry, Grant Murley; sisters-in-law, Caroline Woodruff and husband James, Beverly Goodwin and husband Ron, Shelia Nittle and husband Terry; brother-in-law, Maurice L. Manning and wife Paula; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Shriners Hospital or LeBonheur Children’s Hospital.
