Dennis Van Mayfield


Funeral services for Mr. Van Mayfield will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, August 16, 2020, in the chapel of Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Nickey McMinn officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Hope Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held Saturday, August 15, 2020, from 4 until 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Mayfield, age 73, passed away August 13, 2020, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

He was born in Milan to the late Dennison Cecil Mayfield and Minnie Ora Dunavan Mayfield. Van graduated from Medina High School, Class of 1965; he was a veteran of the U. S. Army where he served during the Vietnam War. Mr. Mayfield was retired from the fire department with the Milan Army Ammunition Plant; was a member of Milan First Baptist Church, and the Milan VFW. Van enjoyed woodworking, gardening, dancing, antique cars, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Russell Mayfield.

Van is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jane Todd Mayfield; daughter, Jana Connell and husband Anthony; grandchildren, Brian Connell, Nick Connell; great-grandchildren, Oaklynn and Owen; sister-in-law, Margo Mayfield; nephew, Jeff Mayfield and wife Tish; niece, Becky Mayfield; great-nephew, Ryan Mayfield; great-niece, Christina Mayfield.
