Deborah “Debbie” Louise Waddell Coleman, age 72, passed away peacefully at her home in Humboldt, Tennessee, on June 30, 2025.
Debbie was born on October 28, 1952, in Brownsville, Tennessee, to Robert Henry and Patsy (Lasiter) Waddell. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend who lived her life with love, dedication, and quiet strength.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Lori Coleman, and her cherished granddaughters, Katherine Shields and Rachel Shields, who were the pride and joy of her life. Debbie is also survived by her sister, Linda Waddell Chambers (Lee), and her sister-in-law, Lynn Waddell (Dan), as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Patsy and Leon Antwine, Robert Henry Waddell, Jr., her brother, Bobby Waddell, and her sister, Beverly Antwine Moody.
Debbie’s heart was always with her family, and her greatest joy came from being an involved and present mother and “Grandmommy.” For many years, Friday nights were spent cheering on her girls in the Humboldt Pride Band, along with all the bonus kids and grandkids she proudly supported as her own.
Professionally, Debbie spent over five decades in the legal field, concluding her career with the State of Tennessee District Attorney’s Office for the 28th Judicial District. Her work ethic, attention to detail, and steady presence earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues and community.
She will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to family, her quiet humor, her loyalty, and her kind, giving spirit.
A celebration of life will be held at Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home in Medina, TN on Sunday, July 6th. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 5 p.m.
Honorary pallbearers will be Forest Waddell, Russell Waddell, Tyler Waddell, Chris Chambers, Brent Christian, Scott Kirk, Marc Murdaugh, and Frederick Agee.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Humboldt High School Band, in honor of Debbie’s generous heart and lifelong dedication to helping others.
