Clyde C. Rushing, Jr.

Graveside service for Mr. Clyde Rushing, Jr. will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, April 22, 2023, in Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Mike Sellers officiating. 

 

Mr. Rushing, age 88, passed away peacefully at his home in Milan on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

 

Clyde was born in Decaturville, TN to the late Clyde C. Rushing, Sr. and Nettie Leona Laster Rushing. He graduated from Medina High School “Class of 1954” where he was voted Mr. Medina High School. Clyde then attended Lambuth College before joining the U. S. Army. He worked at Ford Motor Company in Chicago and later as Quality Control Inspector at MAAP where he retired.  Mr. Rushing was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church, loved to play baseball and basketball in his youth, liked to squirrel hunt, was known as a master gardener (especially tomatoes), and loved his family dearly.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, J. D. Rushing, Joe Rushing, Pete Rushing, Frank Rushing; sisters, Polly Powers, Shirley Murphree, Idell Clenney, Willodean Rushing.

 

Clyde is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, Rosia Walters Rushing; son, Timothy Rushing; daughters, Pamela Holland and husband Michael, Tanya Daniels and husband Dick; grandchildren, Kaley Holland, Starr Daniels, Parker Daniels, Payden Daniels; great-grandson, Tracy (T.J.) Moore, Jr.
