Alma Joyce Foust Mitchell

Funeral services for Mrs. Alma Mitchell will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Latham’s Chapel Baptist Church with Bro. Steve Hemann officiating. Burial will follow in Latham’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mrs. Mitchell, age 93, passed away early Sunday morning, April 13, 2025, at her home with family by her side.

Mrs. Alma was born in Gibson County to the late Frank and Irma Tucker Foust. She attended Gibson School then worked at Porter Cable for over 25 years before retiring to become a homemaker. She has resided at the same address for over 70 years. Her passions were sewing, crocheting, cooking and canning; always looking to provide for the family whom she loved dearly.

Mrs. Alma was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 64 years, W.A. Mitchell; brothers, Travis, Raleigh, Harris, and Jerry Foust; sisters, Annie Dorsett and Edna Blankenship.

She is survived by her sons, Noel Mitchell, Chris Mitchell and wife Julie, Gaylon Mitchell; grandchildren, Danny Mitchell, Sarah Mitchell, Amanda (T.K.) Wilson, Dane (Lauren) Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Jacob Damron, Hazel Mitchell, Haislee Mitchell, Brantley Wilson, Cecelia “CC” Hill; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Pallbearers are: Chris Mitchell, Noel Mitchell, Gaylon Mitchell, Dane Mitchell, Danny Mitchell, and Stan Blankenship.
