Memorial services for Ms. Debra Carter will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 12 noon in the chapel of Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home with Mr. Caleb Wray officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery near Medina. Visitation with the family will be be held from 10 A.M. till service time at the funeral home.

Ms. Carter passed away in Lansing, MI on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, after a struggle with liver failure due to diabetes.

Debra was born in Milan, TN on June 6, 1957.  She graduated from North Side High School in Jackson in 1972 and then attended Jackson State Community College.  Afterwards she worked at Wal~Mart and various factories before retiring due to work-related injuries.

She loved good food and traveling, but the core of her heart was held by her family - including the family dogs. In 2019, Debra moved to Michigan to be close to her sister's three dogs (and probably her sister). In addition, she was Mom to a stubborn and mischievous dachshund, who was truly the pride and joy of her life.

Debra was preceded in death by her father, Henry Bell Carter, Jr.; mother, Janice Louise Morris Carter; sister, Ramona Lynn Carter.

She is survived by her dog, Bella, as well as her sister, Jennifer Carter-Johnson; brother-in-law, Jeff Carter-Johnson; aunts, Elaine Morris and Sue Carter Holloway; numerous cousins and friends.  We miss her.
