Zack Fletcher Castellaw, age 88, died May 28, 2026, at his residence in Medina, TN. He was born to John Frank Castellaw & Beulah "Louise" McBride Dutton, in Jackson, TN, on June 30, 1937.
Zack was a fairly new member of the Medina community having lived in Yorktown, Virginia most of his adult life. He was a quiet soul and disliked being the center of attention. He found much joy in working in his yard, watching his Cardinals play baseball or playing himself as 1st baseman, listening to great classic country singers like Dolly and Elvis, league bowling where he was known for his amazing left-handed hook, playing horseshoes, lying in his iconic hammock, and loving his beloved pugs, Bo and Luke.
He will also be remembered for his time serving in the Marines and the Air Force, his "hat room", his bowling ring depicting his perfect game, his 30 years working at UPS and the fact that he was never late for his shift once in his time there, as well as being the first UPS employee to retire (vs resign) from that location, and his uncanny ability to remember the birthdays and addresses of his family members, friends, and customers for years after learning them for the first time.
Zack is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 31 years, Sheryl "Sherry" Lou Watkins Castellaw, two sisters, Mary "Frances" Mosier and Helen L Jaynes, and four brothers, John Lee Castellaw Sr, James C Castellaw Sr, William "Ray" Mosier and Floyd "Gene" Mosier.
He is survived by his daughter, Debra Castellaw Deane & and husband, Bill, of Huddleston, Virginia, son, Gary Castellaw & wife, Lori, of Lehi, Utah, and their mother, Joyce Edmiston Raymond. He is also survived by 3 daughters, Lisa Canaday, Lonnie South and Loreli Pham. He has also been blessed with grandchildren, Jennifer, Laura, Briana, Brittany, William, Bryson, Katie, Karly, Mike, Conner, Taylor, Kendall, Kyle, and Hadyn, as well as 5 great-grandchildren. His brother, Noah L Dutton "Junior" and his sister Jewel F (Dolly) Tritt also survive him. He is also blessed to have had by his side these last 7 years, Patsy Rodgers, who has been such a devoted and loving companion.
A memorial service with Military Honors will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 1 P.M. Family will be honored to receive visitors one hour before the service. Private family interment will take place at Hopewell Cemetery near Medina.
