Funeral services for Mrs. Sandra Smith will be held at 1 P.M. on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Friendship Baptist Church with Pastor Landon Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery near Medina. Visitation with the family will take place at the church from 11 A.M. until service time.

Mrs. Smith, 87 , went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 24, 2026, at her home near Medina with family by her side.

Sandra was born in Medina, TN to the late Gorden Allen and Pearl Lovell Frost. She graduated from Medina High School “Class of 57”.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 40 years, Orvie Dee Smith; son, Timothy “Timbo” Smith; brother, Ray Allen Frost; sister, Patsy Moore; granddaughter, Jessica Reeves.

She taught us all nursery rhymes, how to love, and most importantly, she taught us what it looks like to love Jesus.

Sandra is survived by her sons, Norris (Brenda) Smith, Mike (Amy) Smith; sister, Joy Moore; grandchildren, Zach Smith, Hayden (Kelcy) Smith, Jana (Chris) Eddie, Brandon (Montana) Smith, Nathan (Maigan) Smith, Dakota Smith; great grandchildren, Kaylee, Ty, Mac, Elsie Jo, Zander, John Luke, Graham, Pearl, Sabrina, Zoe, Kade, Chloe, Drake, Presly, Jersy, Caiman; beloved family member & caregiver, Kristi Blankenship; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Pallbearers to serve are: Brandon, Nathan, Zachary, Hayden, Dakota Smith, Chris, Ty Eddie.

Sandra , our beloved mother and mammaw, was a devoted Christian woman whose greatest love was her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and her family. Her faith was the foundation of her life. She loved Jesus deeply and lived her life with a servant’s heart, kindness, and unwavering love for those around her.

She was also a wonderful friend to so many. She never met a stranger and had a way of making people feel loved and welcomed. She spent her life working hard, caring for others, and giving pieces of herself to everyone around her.

She had a gift for making a house feel like home, especially through her cooking. She was an excellent cook, and so many of our family memories will forever be tied to the meals she lovingly prepared. She had a way of bringing people together around her table, filling not only our stomachs but our hearts. Mammaw was happiest when she was busy doing the things she loved. She could be found in her garden, sewing, working a crossword puzzle, fishing, singing, traveling, reading her Bible cover to cover, or sitting down for a good card game—and she was a card shark you definitely wanted on your team! She was talented, independent, hardworking, and full of life.

She loved all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren among all of her family, friends and even strangers. She taught us all nursery rhymes, how to love, and most importantly, she taught us what it looks like to love Jesus and live a life that points others toward Him.

We will miss her voice, hugs, prayers and guidance.

We will miss her stories, her laughter, and seeing her wave from her front porch after every visit.

But we all find comfort knowing that this is not goodbye forever.

Mammaw finished her race. She kept the faith. And now she is home with the One she loved most.

Her earthly journey is complete, but her love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her
