Graveside services for Mrs. Bonita Cryer will be held 11 A.M. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at Latham's Chapel Church Cemetery near Medina with Chris McLemore officiating. Visitation with the family will take place at the cemetery from 10:30 A.M. until service time. Lunch will be provided after the service at Latham Baptist Church fellowship hall.
Mrs. Cryer, 63, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at her home near Lavinia with family by her bedside.
Bonita was born in Humboldt, TN to the late Floyd David Naylor and Martha Ann Espey Naylor. She graduated from Humboldt High School "Class of 81", then worked as a seamstress in Humboldt, TN and as a secretary after that. Bonita was married to Scotty Cryer for 26 years before his passing. When not working, she enjoyed rodeos, barrel racing, and trail riding. Raising, showing, and selling goat products was both work and pleasure for her. She had a love for animals, especially her dogs: Cassie, Bella, Missy, Miracle, Buster, Candy. She loved her horses and donated a horse called Apachie to the Lucky Barn in Humboldt, Tn for therapy treatment for children. Above all she loved God and her family. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd David Naylor and Martha Ann Espey Naylor; husband, Scotty Cryer; and infant sister, Anita Naylor.
Bonita is survived by her son, Naylor Cryer (Dina); daughters, Sue Jean Freshour (Terry), Gladys Biggs (Robert), Margaret Ruth Ann Litton; sisters, Camilla Mauritz (Ken), Amy Jo Hardwick (Bubba); grandson, Jasper Lindsey and future granddaughter; nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Pallbearers are: Bubba Hardwick, Jacob Lindsey, Justin Lindsey, Robert Biggs, Hunter Walters, Terry Freshour.
