Mrs. Virginia Osborne

Heaven opened it's arms and welcomed a special angel.  Virginia Rutherford Osborne passed away quietly at home on February 1, 2017 at the age of 83.    Virginia was born on August 14, 1933 in the Three Way community to John Thomas Rutherford and Gladys (White) Rutherford.   Virginia graduated High School at North Side in Jackson.  She married Bill Osborne on March 24, 1952.  They lived in Whidbey Island WA, Bremerton WA, and San Diego, CA before settling in Humboldt, TN to raise their family of four children.  Virginia lived there until her death.

Virginia was a gentle, loving woman with a heart of gold and a faith that she lived daily.  Her sense of humor brought laughter to all of us and her smile would brighten your day.  She loved to prepare meals for her family and they were unbeatable!  She grew beautiful flowers and derived such pleasure from them and from everything in nature.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, JT and Gladys Rutherford, her brothers Thomas and Lawrence Rutherford, infant daughter Susan Osborne, and granddaughter Karah Osborne.

Virginia is survived by her husband, Bill Osborne, of Humboldt; her brother Vernon Rutherford of Jackson, TN; four children:  Gary (Celecia) Osborne of Humboldt,TN; Joe (Kim) Osborne of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Denise (Rusty) Wilder of Lolo, MT and Vince (Julie) Osborne of Medina, TN.  She is also survived by grandchildren:  Joely, Kristen, Amanda, Lexi, Jace, Breeana, Megan, Alicia, Brent, Rachel, Holly, Sydney, and Trent.  She leaves behind 7 great grandchildren: Kayla, Trevor, Evan, Jaxon, Keira, Nora, Morgan  and 2 great, great grandchildren: Kaydence and Liam.

Funeral services will be held at New Shiloh church in Humboldt, TN on Sunday, February 5th. Visitation will be from 2:00 -3:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 3:00.  Services will be conducted by Brother Don Prescott.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Alzheimers Association or Hospice Care.

Bill would like to send a special thanks to the Hospice workers who took such gentle, loving care of Virginia.  He would also like to thank Dr. Chioco and his nurse  Laurie for their compassionate care.
